SUKKUR: Police operations in the Katcha areas of Bagarji in Sukkur and Shikarpur have resulted in the deaths of six dacoits and injuries to more than 20 others, authorities confirmed.
SSP Sukkur, Azhar Mughal, said the operations employed drone technology to target dacoit hideouts, using modern tactical weapons to neutralize threats. During a drone strike on a wedding ceremony of a dacoit’s son in the Bagarji area, several criminals—including Ahmed Narejo, Kashmir Jatoi, and Gul Phulpoto—were injured. Additional dacoits, including Khadim Bhayo, Farman Narejo, Mircho Narejo, and Dadal Narejo, were also wounded, while four other dacoits were killed, and police are continuing to recover their bodies. Tragically, local artist Wasim Burro, a tabla player, was also killed in the attack.
The deceased dacoits were involved in the murder of SHO Khameso Brohi and other serious crimes. Police also recovered looted cash and valuables belonging to bus passengers from the scene.
