DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A serious case of alleged injustice has emerged in Paharpur under the Benazir Income Support Programme, where deserving women were reportedly subjected to illegal deductions from their financial assistance despite clear orders issued by the assistant commissioner.

According to local sources, an unlawful deduction of Rs500 per beneficiary continued unabated from government relief funds, in apparent violation of strict and explicit instructions from the assistant commissioner of Paharpur.

The sources said the illegal practice was being carried out openly at an office located near a filthy drain, triggering widespread anger and resentment among residents of the area.

Affected women raised their voices against what they described as blatant exploitation and contacted the Paharpur News team, which visited the site and was briefed on the entire situation by the beneficiaries themselves.

Clear video evidence of the alleged illegal deductions was also reported to be available, raising serious questions about the performance, oversight and credibility of the local administration and the departments concerned.

Public circles strongly demanded immediate action against the officials involved and called for the return of the illegally deducted amounts to the deserving beneficiaries without further delay.
