KHYBER: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Ameer and Senator Maulana Ata-ur-Rehman has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the province, warning that the government’s writ has nearly collapsed and citizens are increasingly at the mercy of terrorists.
Speaking at a press conference at Maskan Darveshan in Takht Bhai, Maulana Ata-ur-Rehman highlighted a steady rise in terrorist incidents across KP, creating insecurity among the public. He stressed that safeguarding citizens’ lives and property is a fundamental duty of the state, which he said the government has failed to fulfil.
He also referred to unrest in Balochistan, warning that attacks by the Baloch Liberation Army on government and public installations pose a serious threat to national security.
The JUI-F leader reiterated the party’s commitment to Pakistan’s Constitution, noting the historic role of JUI leaders in incorporating Islamic provisions. He warned that any attempts to tamper with these clauses will be met with strong protest, including sacrifices of blood if necessary.
Maulana Ata-ur-Rehman alleged electoral manipulation has repeatedly undermined JUI’s mandate, calling for strict adherence to the Constitution and an end to undemocratic interference in politics.
He announced that JUI-F will hold a “Dastoor-e-Islam Conference” on April 12 at Mardan Sports Complex to highlight issues of political instability, insecurity, lawlessness, and nepotism, and to offer constitutional and Islamic solutions.
Party leaders urged workers and the public to participate in large numbers, emphasizing the conference as a platform for a peaceful and organized struggle to restore law, order, and constitutional governance.
