WANA: Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed across Lower and Upper South Waziristan with enthusiasm, patriotism and a strong sense of national unity, as rallies and events were organised to reaffirm support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom.
In both districts, government officials, police officers, tribal elders, civil society representatives, journalists and large numbers of citizens took part to express unwavering solidarity with Kashmiris.
In Wana, the headquarters of Lower South Waziristan, an organised rally was held in front of the Wana Police Lines under the auspices of the district administration and police. The rally was led by Deputy Commissioner Lower South Waziristan Masrat Zaman, District Police Officer Mohammad Tahir and DSP Circle Asghar Ali Shah. Tribal elders, youth, journalists and people from different walks of life participated in large numbers, carrying banners and placards bearing slogans in support of the Kashmiri people.
During the rally, the national anthems of Pakistan and Kashmir were played, creating an atmosphere charged with patriotic fervour. Participants raised slogans against Indian atrocities and in favour of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, saying that despite decades of oppression, the Kashmiri struggle remained alive and resilient.
Addressing a brief gathering at the conclusion of the rally, speakers said the people of Pakistan stood shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brothers and would continue to extend political, moral and diplomatic support at every forum. They urged the international community to take immediate notice of serious human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and to play an effective role in ensuring Kashmiris their right to self-determination in line with United Nations resolutions.
Meanwhile, in Upper South Waziristan, Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed with dignity and discipline at the DC Compound in Tank, following special directives from the provincial government and the deputy commissioner. A rally was organised and attended by government officials, tribal leaders and citizens to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
Speakers paid tribute to the Kashmiri freedom struggle and said Kashmir Solidarity Day symbolised national unity, brotherhood and unwavering support for the oppressed.
The events in both districts concluded with special prayers for the elevation of the ranks of Kashmiri martyrs and for the freedom, peace and prosperity of the people of occupied Kashmir. Participants pledged that their solidarity would not be confined to a single day but would continue with the same commitment and passion in the future.
