DOHA: A report by Al Jazeera has said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decade-long campaign to isolate Pakistan internationally has failed, arguing that Islamabad remains actively engaged with major global powers.
According to the report, India’s 2016 policy objective of diplomatically isolating Pakistan did not succeed, as the country continues to maintain relations with the United States, China, Iran and Saudi Arabia simultaneously.
The analysis said Pakistan has emerged as a significant regional player, influencing geopolitical developments and maintaining diplomatic relevance during periods of heightened tensions in South Asia.
It added that during the 2025 India-Pakistan tensions, Pakistan managed to strengthen its international narrative, while global responses to incidents such as the Pahalgam attack did not fully align with India’s allegations.
The report also noted that Pakistan’s focus on minerals, investment and diplomacy has helped it gain attention from US policymakers, while its strategic partnership with China remains a central pillar of its foreign policy.
Al Jazeera further said that relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh have improved and that Gulf states increasingly view Pakistan as an emerging security partner in the region.
The report concluded that India’s international image has been affected by its domestic political and policy decisions, particularly regarding minority-related issues.
