KARACHI: In an extraordinary display of faith and generosity, NIBD Welfare Society hosted a landmark Ramadan fundraiser at Tabani House, DHA Phase 6, Karachi, raising PKR 29 million on the spot, with pledges for further support in the days ahead.

Hosted by Humza Tabani under the banner “Rehmat Ka Mahina, Umeed Ka Paigham”, the evening brought together philanthropists, business leaders, and community figures committed to funding 20 life-saving bone marrow transplants for underprivileged patients with blood cancers, thalassemia, aplastic anemia, and other critical disorders.

The event’s distinguished hosting committee reflected the credibility and urgency of the cause. Among those present were Yasmin Dadabhoy, Saeed Allawala, Shamim Firpo, Aizaz Ul Haq Siddiqui, Fahad Ilyas Nainitalwala, Bilal Chotani, Syed Hussain Sajjad, Omer Bin Zahid, Adnan Abrar, Dr Umer Shamsi, Razzaq Pardesi, Ather Khan, Naveed Bilwani, Moneeza Butt, Mian Idrees Hussain, Tanzeem Taj, and Usama Shamsi.

Bone marrow transplantation remains one of the most complex and costly curative treatments. For many families, it is financially out of reach. Each transplant represents a life restored and a second chance for patients and their families. Generosity surged as the scale of need was presented, culminating in PKR 29 million raised live.

Several guests also promised additional support, signaling that the total is only the beginning. Since 2009, NIBD Welfare Society has worked to ensure financial hardship does not stand between a patient and a cure. This Ramadan fundraiser sets a bold benchmark for compassionate giving in Pakistan.
