ISLAMABAD: Minister for Petroleum, Ali Pervaiz Malik, highlighted the growing economic engagement between Pakistan and China, noting that cooperation was expanding into new sectors such as petroleum and minerals.

His remarks came during a special ceremony at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, held to mark the Chinese New Year, a celebration that brought together officials, diplomats, and business leaders from both countries. Addressing the gathering, Malik extended heartfelt congratulations to the Chinese leadership, government, and people on the advent of the Year of the Horse.

Ali Pervaiz Malik described the year as a symbol of strength, resilience, and the enduring nature of the bilateral friendship, emphasizing that the ties between the two nations had matured into a multi-dimensional partnership.

The minister drew attention to ongoing collaborative projects in Pakistan’s mineral sector, pointing to the successful completion of the Saindak project as a milestone in bilateral cooperation.

Malik indicated that the upcoming Siah Diq project would represent the next significant achievement, reinforcing the shared commitment to harnessing mineral resources for economic growth.

The event also featured remarks from the Chinese Ambassador, who reaffirmed Beijing’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with Pakistan across multiple sectors, particularly in energy and minerals.

Analysts noted that such high-profile engagements not only underscore the depth of Pakistan-China ties but also signal the strategic importance both countries attach to long-term economic partnerships.
