ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met a delegation from the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) on Monday to discuss the country’s political situation and broader regional developments.
The talks underscored ongoing dialogue between coalition partners amid a complex political and security environment. The Prime Minister described the PPP as a key partner in government and expressed appreciation for the party’s support in critical decisions affecting national development and policy implementation. He stressed that the backing of the PPP had been essential in enabling decisive measures across governance, economic planning, and public policy, framing the partnership as a pillar of political stability.
The PPP delegation was led by Sherry Rehman and included senior leaders such as Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Syed Naveed Qamar, and Ijaz Jakhrani. Discussions focused on domestic challenges, regional issues, and opportunities for cooperative action. Participants highlighted shared concerns over political, economic, and security dynamics impacting Pakistan.
Senior government officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal and Azam Nazeer Tarar, and Prime Minister’s Advisor Rana Sanaullah, also attended. Observers noted that the meeting reflected a continued commitment among coalition partners to navigate domestic and regional challenges while advancing national priorities.
