KARACHI: Akhuwat held a Ramazan iftar dinner at Marina Club, bringing together civil society members, business leaders, and donors to celebrate the spirit of the holy month.
The gathering was presided over by Akhuwat’s founder and chairman, Amjad Saqib, who served as the chief guest. The program began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem.

During the event, attendees were presented with stories of beneficiaries from Akhuwat’s Islamic microfinance programs and students from its educational institutions, highlighting the organisation’s impact on underprivileged communities.
Addressing the audience, Dr Saqib said Akhuwat’s mission was to support disadvantaged communities across Pakistan without discrimination. He shared that the organisation had disbursed over Rs410 billion in interest-free loans, maintaining a repayment rate of 99.98%.
He also highlighted Akhuwat’s free education initiatives, including boarding and lodging for girls at its colleges in Chakwal and boys in Kasur.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Danish Aman, chief patron of the Akhuwat Council of Patrons in Karachi. The evening concluded with iftar and Maghrib prayers.
