KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami leader Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has called on the Pakistani government to immediately withdraw from the so-called “Gaza Peace Board,” warning that public pressure would force action if the authorities fail to act.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman made the remarks while addressing an “America and Israel Murdabad” public gathering and Iftar event in Gulshan-e-Maymar on 7 March 2026. He described the United States, India, and Israel as forming a “satanic alliance” against Muslims. He said divisions among Muslims, including sectarian differences, only serve their enemies.
The JI leader also urged unity and collective resistance against what he termed anti-Islamic global powers. He criticized the recent Rs55 increase in petroleum prices. He urged the Prime Minister to ensure no government officer uses an official vehicle with an engine capacity above 1,300cc. He questioned why fuel prices were raised despite falling global oil costs, saying citizens were being burdened before new petroleum supplies had even been purchased.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman condemned the US for supplying weapons to Israel for attacks on Gaza, citing former President Donald Trump’s acknowledgment of military support. He criticized the Prime Minister for previously suggesting Trump be nominated for the Nobel Prize, calling it “regrettable.”
He described ongoing US and Israeli actions as violations of international law, targeting civilians, including women, children, and the elderly. He noted recent strikes on Iran as part of this campaign and praised the Iranian people for their patience and resilience, including the loss of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Other speakers at the gathering included Jamaat-e-Islami District Gadap Ameer Muhammad Irfan and Public Aid Committee President Abu Zia Parvez. District Deputy Ameer Tariq Rehman presented a resolution condemning US attacks on civilians in Iran, including reports of schoolgirls and infants among the casualties.
Muhammad Irfan highlighted the destruction in Gaza, saying around 80 percent of the region had been devastated, and praised Hamas fighters for sustaining resistance. Abu Zia Parvez addressed local civic issues in Gulshan-e-Maymar, noting a lack of clean drinking water and alleged neglect by local authorities, claiming that Karachi and Sindh had been mismanaged over the past 17 years.
The event underscored Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi’s call for government accountability on both international and domestic fronts, including opposition to conflicts affecting Muslims and attention to local governance and civic needs.
