DADU: The Paramedical Association staged a protest and sit-in inside the DHQ Hospital over the alleged failure of police to arrest suspects linked to the blackmail case involving Dr Kareem Sheikh of Mithi.
During the demonstration, medical professionals expressed deep concern over what they described as inaction by Mithi police despite the registration of a case. They said the delay in arrests had caused widespread anxiety and distress among doctors across Sindh, raising fears about the safety and protection of healthcare workers.
Dr Ahsan Panhwar, Ateeq Rehman Janwari, Shiraz Daowach and Nisar Lashari, while addressing the protest, described Dr Kareem Sheikh as a competent and honest professional who was allegedly subjected to mental harassment and false accusations. They said these circumstances led to a tragic outcome, though they did not elaborate further.
The speakers noted that eight individuals had been nominated in the case, yet none had been arrested so far. They said this inaction had created frustration and concern within the medical community, which expected swift justice and accountability.
The protest leaders demanded the immediate arrest of all nominated suspects, insisting that justice must be ensured for the deceased doctor and his family. They warned that if authorities continued to delay action, the Paramedical Association would expand its protest across Dadu district, potentially escalating the situation.
