TEL AVIV: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed that Israel compelled US president Donald Trump to carry out strikes on Iran, stating that Trump could not have done otherwise under the pressure applied by his government. Briefing international media in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu claimed the Iran conflict could conclude far more rapidly than anticipated, asserting that Israel has successfully dismantled Iran’s missile manufacturing and uranium enrichment capabilities.
The Israeli leader confirmed that the strike on Iran’s South Pars gas field was conducted by Israel, but acknowledged that Trump has subsequently restrained further Israeli operations. Netanyahu also pointed to emerging cracks within the Iranian leadership, suggesting internal divisions that could accelerate the regime’s collapse. His remarks underscore the complex dynamics between Washington and Tel Aviv, revealing tensions despite their coordinated military campaign against Iran.
