TEL AVIV: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was a “difficult evening” for Israel after Iran’s retaliatory attacks struck southern cities, including Dimona and Arad. The strikes have heightened tensions and caused significant concern within the country.
In a statement on social media, Netanyahu said that despite the situation, Israel would continue its operations against its enemies, calling it a “war for our future.”
Following the attacks, Israeli authorities announced the closure of educational institutions in affected areas, with the education ministry saying no in-person attendance would be allowed on Sunday and Monday.
Iran’s missile strikes reportedly caused widespread damage, with several buildings destroyed, six people killed and more than 150 injured, according to initial reports. The escalation marks a further intensification in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel.
