KARACHI: Sharjeel Inam Memon said that teaching activities in schools, colleges and universities across Sindh would resume from tomorrow, following a decision taken in a provincial cabinet meeting.
Speaking at a media briefing after the meeting, Memon said that physical classes would be held instead of online sessions, signalling a return to normal academic routines. He added that educational institutions across the province would remain closed on Saturdays under the revised schedule.
During the briefing, Memon also criticised Muttahida Qaumi Movement, saying the party speaks about empowering local governments but avoids participating in local body elections. He dismissed the statements of Farooq Sattar, saying they should not be taken seriously.
At the same time, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar said that law and order had improved due to “Operation Nijat Mehran”. He stated that several most-wanted dacoits in districts including Ghotki, Kashmore and Shikarpur had surrendered.
Lanjar added that authorities were now moving into the second phase of the operation, with security conditions improving to the extent that vehicles were now travelling on highways without escorts.
