SUKKUR: Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur concluded a two-day international seminar on Pakistan’s strategic role in regional geopolitics, focusing on Zionist and Hindutva ambitions. The event highlighted Pakistan’s role in promoting peace, stability, and regional cooperation amid complex geopolitical challenges.
The seminar, organized by the Institute of International Relations and Peace Studies, featured a keynote address by veteran parliamentarian and scholar Dr. Syeda Nafisa Shah. Dr. Shah emphasized the distinction between religions and political ideologies, warning that Zionism, Hindutva, and militant interpretations of Islam are often used to pursue nationalist and supremacist agendas under the guise of faith. She condemned imperialist actions in Iran, Lebanon, and Gaza, calling them threats to global peace, and highlighted Pakistan’s strategic location and diplomatic efforts as key to promoting regional stability.
Ambassador Jauhar Saleem spoke on China’s vital role in ending conflicts in the region, noting its business partnerships with Iran and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as tools for promoting peace. Syed Mehdi traced Pakistan’s creation and its strategic significance in countering the Indo-Israel axis while protecting the Muslim Ummah.
The seminar featured discussions on Zionism as a nationalist movement, Hindutva’s impact on minorities in India, and the global security implications of radical interpretations of Islam. Speakers including Dr. Amjad Abbas Magsi and Col. (R) Aamir Hayat shared insights on Pakistan’s strategic challenges and its role in navigating regional geopolitics.
The event concluded with a call for collective action to ensure peace, stability, and cooperation in the region, reaffirming Pakistan’s pivotal role as a proactive mediator in regional conflicts.
