MEHAR: A farewell ceremony was organised by the Mehar Bar Association in honour of Additional Sessions Judge Syed Aijaz Ali Shah following his transfer from Mehar.

The ceremony was attended by Senior Civil Judge Syed Haider Ali Shah, Civil Judges/Judicial Magistrates Muhammad Azeem Solangi and Aijaz Ali Tunio, along with Mehar Bar President Pir Bakhsh Solangi, General Secretary Dad Muhammad Magsi, and a large number of senior and junior lawyers including Saeed Panhwar, Muhammad Ali Kandhro, Abdul Khaliq Bughio, Sajid Mahesar, Amjad Hussain Balhro, Ali Anwar Sahar, Lal Shah, Rizwan Tunio and Najeeb Mahesar.
Addressing the ceremony, Syed Aijaz Ali Shah thanked the lawyers and staff of the Mehar Bar Association and said his time in Mehar would remain memorable. He said cooperation from the legal fraternity had helped him discharge his responsibilities effectively and that he had learned a great deal during his tenure. He added that both the judiciary and lawyers shared the same goal of delivering justice to the oppressed, and that the act of dispensing justice brought inner satisfaction.
Legal community leaders praised his services, saying that during his tenure he played an effective role in ensuring justice and upheld the supremacy of law. They described him as a competent judge who maintained a respectful and positive attitude towards lawyers and the public, and expressed hope that he would continue to serve with honesty and dedication in his future postings.
During the ceremony, members of the Mehar Bar Association presented traditional gifts, including ajrak, turbans, lungis and caps, to the outgoing judge. Other guests were also given ajrak and caps as tokens of appreciation.
Separately, a delegation of journalists from the National Press Club Mehar met Syed Aijaz Ali Shah, who appreciated their efforts in highlighting issues faced by the oppressed.
