KARACHI: An Eid Milan party for deaf women was held in Karachi, bringing together members of the community in a celebration focused on inclusion, connection and shared joy.

The annual event was organised by the Women Deaf Karachi Association (WDKA) in collaboration with Women in Rotary, PWD Network and the Khudi Foundation, and was hosted at the Rotary Club of Karachi Silver Sands Secretariat.
The gathering continued its tradition of celebrating diversity by creating a welcoming space for the deaf community, where sign language was used as the official mode of communication throughout the event.

Participants took part in a mandala art therapy session conducted by Khudi Wellness, which offered an opportunity for creative expression and relaxation through art.
Organisers also arranged a series of engaging competitions, adding to the festive atmosphere and creating moments of excitement and laughter, while encouraging social inclusion.
Sarwat Shah, an advocate for the empowerment of persons with disabilities, represented the host organisations and encouraged deaf women to connect and socialise more frequently.
Irem Jehan, a self-advocate for the empowerment of deaf women, thanked the organisers for creating an inclusive environment that embraced diversity and promoted participation.
The event concluded with a high tea, where attendees shared conversations and celebrated the spirit of Eid in an atmosphere of unity, warmth and inclusion.
