KARACHI: A cooperation protocol has been signed between the İbn-i Sina Institute, the World Ageing Council and Badar Expo Solutions, marking a formal partnership aimed at expanding collaboration in the healthcare sector and advancing international engagement on health policy, innovation and investment.
The agreement was signed by gerontologist and World Ageing Council chairman Dr Kemal Aydın and Badar Expo Solutions Chief Operating Officer Tanveer Abbas Abdullah, with both sides describing the arrangement as a step towards strengthening strategic cooperation in health systems development and related industries.
Under the framework of the agreement, the International Health Summit (IHS) is scheduled to be held during the Healthcare Expo and Conference in Karachi from 23 to 25 July 2026. Organizers said the event would bring together a wide range of stakeholders, including public sector representatives, academic institutions, healthcare professionals, investors and civil society organizations.
The main theme of the summit has been set as “New Horizons in Healthcare: Clustering, Free Zones and Cooperativisation”, reflecting a focus on structural reforms and new economic models in the health sector. According to organizers, discussions will center on healthcare investment opportunities, production and supply chains, industrial clusters, cooperative frameworks and the development of specialized health free zones.
A wide set of priority areas has also been outlined for the summit agenda. These include regional cooperation in health technologies, new approaches in pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and the expanding “care economy” linked to ageing populations. Other topics will cover public–private partnerships, health tourism, digital health systems, and the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare delivery.
