KARACHI: The chairman of Korangi Town, Muhammad Naeem Sheikh, visited UC-10 as part of the “Clean and Green Korangi” campaign, where he reviewed ongoing sanitation work, including drain cleaning, timely waste disposal and improvements to roads and footpaths.
He was accompanied by UC-10 vice-chairman Adnan Mughal, UC-11 vice-chairman Abdul Ghafoor Amjadi and UC-8 vice-chairman Umar Farooq. Local government officials, representatives of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board and other relevant staff were also present.
During the visit, the chairman directed officials to further improve the sanitation system and ensure timely collection of waste so that residents could be provided with a clean and healthy environment. He said the aim of the campaign was not only cleanliness but also to make the area greener, adding that tree plantation efforts were being accelerated.
He said the campaign could not succeed without public cooperation and urged residents to maintain cleanliness and dispose of waste only at designated places.
The vice-chairmen briefed him on issues faced in their respective areas, after which he assured immediate solutions and issued instructions to the relevant officials.
At the end of the visit, Naeem Sheikh praised the performance of the sanitation staff and said their efforts were essential to making Korangi a clean and model locality.
