MEHAR: A ceremony was held in Mehar to mark the 503rd martyrdom anniversary of Makhdoom Bilawal (RA), organised by Jeay Sindh Mahaz in what participants described as a respectful and dignified event.
The gathering brought together political, social and literary figures, along with local residents. Jeay Sindh Mahaz chairman Abdul Khaliq Junejo attended as chief guest.
Addressing the ceremony, Abdul Khaliq Junejo said Makhdoom Bilawal was a symbol of resistance, truth and justice in Sindh. He said that for those who loved Sindh, his struggle remained a guiding light.
He added that Sindh continued to face multiple challenges and said people should raise their voices for their rights by following the philosophy of Makhdoom Bilawal.
Junejo urged young people to understand their history, identity and culture and work towards preserving them.
Other speakers included Jeay Sindh Mahaz central information secretary Khalid Junejo, Dadu district general secretary Mumtaz Lakhair, advocates Sajjad Agro, Rashid Bughio and Panhal Khoso, along with Mohsin Palh and Faqir Muhammad Tunio, who highlighted the life, sacrifices and character of Makhdoom Bilawal and paid tribute to him.
A large number of political, social and literary activists and workers, including Naqees Qureshi, Murtaza Kalhoro, Ismail Janwari, Zahoor Khokhar, Muhammad Akram Channa and Khalid Agro, also attended the event.
After the ceremony, a delegation led by Abdul Khaliq Junejo visited a protest camp at Mehar Ghanta Ghar Chowk regarding the recovery of a missing girl, Ajala Parveen Solangi. They expressed sympathy with her family and urged the Sindh government to ensure her safe recovery.
