KARACHI: A murder case registered at Baghdadi Police Station has brought renewed attention to allegations against a suspected drug trafficker, Anmol alias Pinky, amid claims of a stylized “branding” culture linked to narcotics distribution in Karachi’s Lyari area.
According to Metro Morning, the case — relating to a death reported on 7 April — was formally registered on 9 May, prompting fresh scrutiny of the circumstances surrounding the incident and the alleged role of the accused.
The complainant, auto mechanic Muhammad Sher, stated in his report that a drug addict’s body was found on a footpath near Haji Pir Muhammad Road in Lyari. He said that during examination of the deceased, police recovered a small golden-colored box from the victim’s clothing, which allegedly contained markings associated with the accused.
The FIR further claims that the container bore a message reading: “Queen Madam Pinky Don — name is enough, enjoy,” a detail investigators say is now part of the ongoing inquiry into the wider drug network allegedly operating in the area.
Officials investigating the case believe the substance inside the box was narcotics and are examining whether the accused, identified as Anmol alias Pinky, ran a local drug distribution network under a “branded identity”, a claim that has not yet been independently verified.
The complainant said he approached police seeking legal action over the illegal drug trade and related deaths. Law enforcement officials confirmed that further investigation was under way, adding that the case could point to both trafficking activity and a deliberate attempt to cultivate notoriety through symbolic branding linked to narcotics distribution in Karachi.
