KARACHI: The Government of Sindh, in collaboration with the Karachi Development Authority, organised a public exhibition and open house under the Greater Karachi Regional Plan 2047 to present a long-term vision for the city’s development and sustainable urban planning.

The event was attended by Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, where international consultants gave detailed presentations on key areas of the master plan, including urban infrastructure, transport, environmental sustainability, housing and future development strategies.

Project Director Muhammad Arshad Khan said the Greater Karachi Regional Plan 2047 was a comprehensive framework designed to shape the city’s future growth and urban development.
He said the plan aimed to align Karachi with modern urban needs by improving infrastructure, strengthening transport networks, promoting environmental protection and supporting economic development through integrated planning.
Addressing participants, the mayor said collective efforts were essential for the development and revival of Karachi. He stressed cooperation between government institutions, urban planners, experts, stakeholders and citizens to ensure the city’s long-term progress.
He also invited citizens to visit the ongoing exhibition at Khaliq Dina Hall and share suggestions and feedback on Karachi’s future development so that a more inclusive and effective urban planning strategy could be achieved.
