KARACHI: A comprehensive career counselling session was organized by the Institute of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management (Skilston) for trainees of the Benazir Bhutto Human Resource, Research and Development Board.
The aim of the session was to provide professional guidance to young people, support career planning and raise awareness about better employment opportunities in the hospitality and culinary arts sectors.
At the start of the event, Skilston Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Afzal Siddiqui welcomed the guests and encouraged trainees to further refine their professional skills.
Speaking as chief guest, Secretary of the BBHRRDB Engineer Munawar Ali Mithani appreciated Skilston’s efforts in providing quality technical and vocational education and practical training. He said that in order to stay aligned with modern requirements, young people needed to focus on discipline, dedication and the development of technical skills so they could fully benefit from national and international job opportunities.
Regional Consultant Engineer Taimur Ali and relevant assistant directors (monitoring) also attended the session. They emphasized the importance of enhancing professional abilities, industrial linkages, practical experience and continuous learning, describing them as essential for a successful career in the hotel management and hospitality industry.
During the session, participants were guided in detail on career selection, workplace ethics, interview preparation, effective communication skills and emerging opportunities in local and global hospitality markets.
Participants showed keen interest in the session and engaged actively in discussions with the speakers.
