TEHRAN: Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Senator Mohsin Naqvi, has met the Iranian president, Masoud Pezeshkian, for the second time in a week during a high-level visit to Tehran, signalling an unusually intensified phase of diplomatic engagement between the two neighbours.
According to official reporting, Naqvi arrived in Tehran on Tuesday afternoon, where he held a series of meetings with senior Iranian leadership. The visit marks his second trip to Iran within five days.
During his stay, he met President Pezeshkian once again, alongside discussions with Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, General Hossein Salami.
On his earlier visit, Naqvi had also met Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, the Speaker of the Iranian parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, as well as President Pezeshkian and other senior officials.
While no detailed readouts of the latest discussions have been made public, the rapid succession of meetings suggests a focus on strengthening bilateral coordination across security and political channels at a time of heightened regional sensitivity.
The pace of engagement also reflects broader efforts by both Islamabad and Tehran to maintain steady diplomatic contact amid shifting regional alignments and ongoing security concerns along their shared border.
