DADU: n important meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Hyderabad divisional commissioner to review arrangements and security measures for Muharram 2026, bringing together senior civil, police and emergency officials from across the division.

The meeting was attended by all deputy commissioners of the division, the DIG Hyderabad, the director general of health, representatives of the Special Branch, HESCO, SSGC and other relevant departments. Participants discussed security preparations, emergency response plans, medical facilities, utility services and coordination among government agencies to ensure the peaceful and secure conduct of Muharram gatherings and processions throughout Hyderabad division.
Officials reviewed measures aimed at maintaining law and order during the religious observances, with particular attention given to emergency preparedness and the uninterrupted provision of essential public services. The meeting stressed the importance of close coordination between all departments to respond effectively to any situation that may arise during the holy month.
During the session, officials from Sindh Emergency Rescue Service Rescue 1122 Hyderabad gave a detailed briefing on the arrangements made for Muharram.
The briefing outlined plans to establish medical camps at various locations to provide immediate healthcare assistance to mourners and participants. Rescue 1122 officials said fire tenders and trained rescue personnel would be deployed across the division, while emergency teams would remain stationed along the routes of major processions and at key religious gatherings.
The rescue service said these measures had been designed to ensure a rapid response in the event of any emergency. Teams equipped with medical and rescue facilities would remain on alert throughout Muharram to provide timely assistance and minimise risks to public safety.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from all departments to work in close coordination and ensure that security, health and emergency arrangements remained fully operational during Muharram, allowing religious events to take place in a safe and orderly environment.
