TANDO ALLAHYAR: The series of mourning gatherings and religious processions continued across the district during Muharram al-Haram, as scholars addressed majalis and reflected on the events of Karbala and the message of Imam Hussain, organisers said on 18 June 2026.
An Ashra Majlis-e-Aza was organised by pilgrims of Parvez Sammo at the Khayyam Imam Hussain (AS) Memorial House, located at the central Imambargah Haideri in Rahab Faqir Pada, where a large number of mourners attended.
Religious scholar Allama Shafqat Abbas Qomi delivered a detailed address, speaking about the spiritual significance and legacy of Imam Hussain (AS) and the Ahlul Bayt. He said the status of Imam Hussain was deeply rooted in his connection with the teachings of Allah and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), describing him as a guiding light for believers.
He said Imam Hussain (AS) stood firmly against the rule of Yazid and rejected oppression, choosing truth over submission. He referred to the historic stance of Imam Hussain in Karbala as a defining moment that, according to the speaker, continues to inspire resistance against injustice and falsehood.
The scholar said that the message of Muharram was not limited to mourning but also carried lessons of patience, peace, brotherhood and steadfastness on truth. He said the sacrifices of Imam Hussain and his companions remained a source of moral guidance for humanity.
He further said that the events of Karbala represented a clear division between truth and falsehood, and that the legacy of Imam Hussain (AS) continued to inspire generations to stand against oppression in all forms.
Mourning gatherings were held in different parts of the district, where participants offered prayers and reflected on the historical significance of Muharram. Organisers said such gatherings played an important role in preserving religious traditions and spreading messages of peace and unity.
The event concluded with prayers for the departed souls and for peace, unity and stability in the country. Organisers said the series of majalis and processions would continue throughout the holy month under strict arrangements to ensure peace and order.
