KARACHI: Police in Karachi’s PIB Colony have arrested 11 wanted suspects during an intelligence-based operation targeting criminal elements and alleged drug dealers, officials said.
The operation was carried out on the directives of SSP East Zubair Nazir Sheikh and under the supervision of senior police officers. It was led by PI/SHO Haji Ishaq, while intelligence officer Amir Sarfraz and his team played a key role in identifying and tracking the suspects.
According to police, the arrested individuals were wanted in connection with 15 intelligence reports. The operation was conducted in the Old Sabzi Mandi area, where police said criminal and drug-related activities had declined significantly following continued action against suspected offenders.
Police officials said the crackdown had also helped improve the security situation in the area. Local residents reportedly welcomed the action, saying it had provided relief to the community. They said several suspected criminals and drug dealers had either left the area or returned to their native villages after the police intensified operations.
Officials said the arrests reflected the results of intelligence gathering, timely action and investigation by the PIB Colony police team.
The East District Police said operations against criminal elements and drug dealers would continue as part of efforts to maintain law and order and protect residents.
Police officials also praised the PIB Colony team, led by Haji Ishaq, for its efforts in tracing and arresting the wanted suspects.
