KARACHI: The Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) has released crime figures for Karachi for July, recording dozens of killings and thousands of cases of mobile phone and motorcycle theft and snatching.
According to the CPLC report, 40 people were killed in different incidents across the city during the month, while 18 cases of extortion were reported. The report said 1,846 mobile phones were stolen in July, while 110 vehicles were reported stolen and 12 cars were snatched.
Motorcycle theft and snatching remained a major concern, with 2,648 motorcycles stolen and another 492 snatched during the month, according to the CPLC. The figures provide an overview of the scale of street crime and other criminal activity reported in Karachi during July.
