HYDERABAD: The National Disability & Development Forum NDF Pakistan, Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Sindh government’s Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities DEPD, organized a 79th Independence Day celebration for children with disabilities.
Children, rehabilitation professionals, staff members, parents and community representatives attended the event, which was held in a patriotic atmosphere. The venue was decorated with national flags and colors, while children took part in various activities celebrating their love for Pakistan.
Rida Fatima, Adeeba Hassan Memon, Faiqa Jahangir, Kainat Khoso, Saima Lashari, Qarar Hussain, Waseem Lashari and others spoke about the importance of Independence Day and paid tribute to those who sacrificed for the creation of Pakistan.
The speakers said the true meaning of independence was to build an inclusive society where people with disabilities could enjoy equal rights, dignity, accessibility, education, rehabilitation and opportunities to participate fully in social life.
