SUKKUR: The Ghotki Village Development Organization, part of the Grow Green Network (GGN), hosted a public forum in collaboration with the Indus Consortium, urging a shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy and stronger climate action.
The event, held under the national campaign Public Forums 2025: Mobilising Communities to Demand Solar Equity, Exit Fossil Fuels, and Secure Climate-Resilient Recovery, brought together civil society members, journalists, political activists, and academics to discuss community-driven solutions for energy and climate challenges.
Participants highlighted the rising cost of electricity, limited energy access, and increasing climate impacts. Speakers including Rauf Paras Dayo, Ali Nawaz, Retired Major Rasheed Jamal, Dr. Jagdesh Kumar, and others emphasized urgent policy reforms to expand solar energy, phase out fossil fuels, and prioritize climate-resilient recovery for vulnerable communities.
