KARACHI: Shaan e Pakistan celebrated its 10th anniversary with the inauguration of the SEPMA Academy, a new initiative offering free music education to visually impaired and specially-abled individuals. The Media Meet-and-Greet event featured a red carpet attended by prominent personalities including Alyy Khan, Nadira Panjwani, Irfan Pardesi, and Jawed Iqbal.
Shanaz Ramzi opened the event with a welcome address, highlighting SEPMA’s achievements and future plans. Performances included a musical presentation by SEPMA, a thematic mash-up “The World is Different but Emotions Are the Same” directed by Huma Haji Zikar Pardesi, and the SEPMA Academy’s “We Sense” performance. Fragrance Lab supported the segment.

A highlight was the “Hot Seat Session” on the theme “The World is Blind,” featuring Nadira Panjwani and SEPMA Academy co-founder Irfan Pardesi, moderated by Alyy Khan. Khan shared personal insights about his niece, a visually impaired multi-instrumentalist and singer. Another discussion on inclusion for women and girls with disabilities featured Aiman, a DOW MBBS student, and Yumna Ikram, moderated by Shanaz Ramzi.
The event also included an MOU signing between SEPMA and Ida Rieu, a renowned institution for the blind and mute, followed by performances by Ida Rieu students. Huma Pardesi emphasized the Academy’s mission to unite, nurture, and showcase musical talent while promoting inclusivity. The evening concluded with a Q&A session and closing remarks by Irfan Pardesi.
Shaan-e-Pakistan Foundation promotes cultural exchange through art, music, food, and fashion, celebrating both local and international talent. SEPMA (Shaan-e-Pakistan Music Awards) recognises musicians’ dedication, and SEPMA Academy now extends its vision of empowerment by providing visually impaired students with a platform to develop and showcase their musical abilities nationally and internationally.
