ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti has affirmed that terrorists cannot impose their rule over the nation, adding that the people of Balochistan have stood with the armed forces and will continue to do so.
Speaking at a press conference, Bugti said that around 100 terrorists recently surrendered in Dera Bugti, and he welcomed those who chose to lay down arms rather than confront the state. “The state of Pakistan and its flag are paramount. For the nation, personal issues are set aside,” he said.
He detailed that over the past year, 900 terrorist incidents occurred in Balochistan, resulting in the deaths of 205 security personnel, including six officers, and 280 civilians. “Our forces have neutralized 760 terrorists. Even on the Afghan border, dozens of terrorists were killed,” he added.
Bugti criticized the Afghan caretaker government for failing to honor its Doha agreement pledge that Afghan soil would not be used against Pakistan. “Violence will never win this war. The Field Marshal has successfully thwarted enemies ten times our size with strategy and courage,” he said.
He also emphasized national unity against terrorism, noting that provinces like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan face the highest number of incidents. He warned against narratives that weaken the state and urged political leaders to prioritize the nation over personal or party agendas.
