KHAIRPUR: The vice-chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, Professor Dr Yousuf Khushk, has carried out a comprehensive inspection of university departments to review examination arrangements and ensure student welfare during the ongoing second semester examinations.

Leading a high-level delegation of senior academics, Dr Khushk visited multiple faculties and examination venues to assess facilities, administrative preparedness and the overall environment provided to students. University officials said the visit reflected the administration’s proactive approach to maintaining academic integrity and supporting students during a critical assessment period.

During interactions with departmental heads, examination staff and students, the vice-chancellor stressed that all possible facilities must be provided to examinees so they could focus on their papers without unnecessary difficulties. He underlined the need for fairness, transparency and a supportive atmosphere throughout the examination process.

“The examination period is a pivotal time for our students, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure it is conducted with absolute fairness, transparency and support,” Dr Khushk said, adding that examinations should assess academic performance while respecting the effort and commitment of students.

He instructed staff to remain vigilant and cooperative, and to address any issues faced by students without delay. Deans and senior faculty members accompanying him assured the vice-chancellor that best practices would be implemented across their respective faculties.

The inspection team included Professor Dr Mushtaque Ali Jakhrani, dean of the faculty of natural sciences, Professor Dr Minhoon Khan Laghari, dean of the faculty of management sciences, and senior faculty members including Professors Dr Akhtiar Ali Ghumro, Dr Liaquat Ali Chandio, Dr Samina Rajpar, Dr Jawad Hassan, Dr Hidayatullah Shaikh and Dr Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, along with other academics.

During the walkthrough, the delegation reviewed examination hall readiness, including seating, lighting, ventilation and cleanliness, as well as administrative logistics such as the distribution of question papers, invigilation arrangements and adherence to schedules. Student convenience measures, including the availability of drinking water and clear signage, were also checked, alongside security and discipline to prevent malpractice.

University officials said the vice-chancellor expressed general satisfaction with the arrangements while offering recommendations for further improvement in future examination cycles. The inspection was described as reinforcing SALU’s commitment to student-centered governance, accountability and the maintenance of robust academic standards.
