Shahbaz Sharif credits Pakistan’s triumph in the recent conflict to the nation’s unwavering prayers, warning that India will long bear the weight of this setback

    By Asghar Ali Mubarak

HARIPUR: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif declared that the Modi government had been handed a lesson in what he described as the “Ma’rakah-e-Haq,” a defeat it would never forget.

Speaking at a ceremony in Haripur for the distribution of laptops under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, Shahbaz Sharif attributed Pakistan’s success in the recent conflict to the steadfast prayers of the nation, insisting that India would carry the memory of this setback for years to come.

In his address, the Prime Minister highlighted the scale and inclusivity of the laptop initiative, noting that 600,000 devices had been distributed entirely on merit. He paid tribute to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, commending their courage and resilience in the face of terrorism.

He acknowledged the critical role played by ordinary citizens alongside police forces and the military, whose collective sacrifices, he argued, had restored a sense of security across the country. “History will remember your contributions in golden letters for eternity,” he told the gathered audience, adding that the youth were emerging as the “great architects of the nation.”

Shahbaz Sharif also addressed the broader vision for national development, stressing the importance of equitable progress across all four provinces. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to education, highlighting programs designed to provide students with opportunities for advanced studies abroad, particularly in fields such as artificial intelligence.

Turning to economic matters, the Prime Minister claimed that Pakistan had moved beyond a period of stagnation. He insisted that sustainable growth required unity and perseverance, cautioning against reliance on shortcuts or gimmicks. “National progress is the result of collective effort, discipline, and vision,” he said, underscoring the need for a focused approach to economic and social development.

As part of his speech, Shahbaz Sharif announced the construction of a new Danish School in Haripur, framing it as a concrete step towards enhancing educational infrastructure and providing modern learning opportunities for young students in the region.

The Prime Minister’s remarks combined nationalistic pride with a clear message of development and reform. By linking the country’s recent military success with civilian resilience, Shahbaz Sharif sought to present a narrative of unity, sacrifice, and forward-looking ambition, positioning education and innovation at the heart of Pakistan’s path toward stability and growth.
