KARACHI: The mystery surrounding the death of Mir Raza Ali Khan, a resident of Pakistan Employees Housing Society (PECHS), Karachi, remains unresolved, while his father has raised serious questions over the medical report and alleged that his son was murdered.

Speaking to Geo News, Mir Raza’s father, Hussain Raza, said his son had been killed and that an attempt was being made to portray his death as suicide. He alleged that Mir Raza’s face, body and fingerprints on his hands had been burned and that he had been shot from behind.
Hussain Raza questioned why the medical report only mentioned a gunshot wound and did not contain any findings related to alleged physical violence or torture. He said Mir Raza went missing on July 28 and his body was recovered on July 29, raising questions about what happened to him during the intervening 24 hours.
According to his father, Mir Raza had spoken to his sister before leaving home on July 28. Hussain Raza also said a taxi driver had told the family that Mir Raza appeared to be in a good mood during the journey and was playing songs in the vehicle.
The family has appealed to senior authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza’s death and determine whether he was murdered.
