DOHA: Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, welcomed a delegation from the Qatar Businessmen Association (QBA), led by Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, and encouraged Qatari businessmen to explore opportunities in sectors including infrastructure, logistics, energy, agriculture, technology, and export-oriented manufacturing. Speaking in Doha, Sharif praised the QBA’s role in promoting commercial and economic collaboration between the two countries.
Sharif outlined improving macroeconomic indicators in Pakistan and detailed reforms aimed at facilitating foreign investment. He highlighted the Special Investment Facilitation Council, a one-window platform designed to ensure transparency, efficiency, and timely decision-making for investors. Sheikh Faisal expressed strong interest in enhancing business-to-business cooperation, signaling Qatar’s intent to invest in Pakistan.
Both sides agreed to maintain close engagement, including through an upcoming visit of a Pak-Qatar investment taskforce to Doha and the organization of business forums to convert discussions into concrete economic partnerships. Officials said special efforts would be made to strengthen linkages between entrepreneurs and businesses from both nations, reflecting a shared commitment to deepening trade and investment ties. The meeting reaffirmed that private-sector collaboration would form the backbone of future economic cooperation, with both governments emphasizing sustained engagement as essential to translating dialogue into tangible growth and mutual benefit.
