MEHAR: Police in Mehar have arrested two men in separate shootouts linked to serious criminal cases, recovering weapons from both suspects, officials said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dadu Amir Saud Magsi said officers acted on intelligence reports about three men allegedly loitering with criminal intent near Patti Jee on the Mehar–Beto Road. Personnel from Radhan police engaged the suspects in a brief exchange of fire, arresting Sajjad, son of Mohib Ali Chandio, while two accomplices managed to escape.

In a separate incident on Mehar Bhatti Road, police confronted five suspects, resulting in the arrest of Saddam Hussain, son of Rasool Bux Mallah, who was injured during the encounter. A weapon and ammunition were recovered, while four others fled the scene. Both arrested men were shifted to Taluka Hospital Mehar for medical treatment.
Magsi said the suspects were wanted in cases including murder, robbery, and dacoity. He added that raids were under way to apprehend the remaining accomplices and that intensified operations would continue to curb crime and restore law and order in Mehar and across Dadu district.
