KARACHI: The road from Jinnah Bridge to PIDC Interchange in Karachi has been reopened for light traffic, according to traffic police officials.
Authorities said the road from Mai Kolachi Phatak towards Jinnah Bridge has also been reopened for small vehicles. However, the route from PIDC towards Jinnah Bridge remains closed to traffic for the time being.
Officials further stated that the road from Sultanabad Traffic Section to Mai Kolachi Phatak is still closed for traffic.
Several key roads in the area, including M.T. Khan Road and surrounding routes leading from Boat Basin to Jinnah Bridge, had been closed since March 1 following an untoward incident near the United States Consulate General Karachi. Authorities had imposed the restrictions as a precautionary measure to maintain security in the area.
