SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: The Alkhidmat Foundation distributed ration packages among families affected by reported unprovoked firing from across the Afghan side in the Angoor Adda border area along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier.
According to details, the organization provided food supplies to 75 affected families in Lower South Waziristan. Officials said the relief effort was aimed at easing hardship in an area already strained by cross-border tensions and insecurity.
Alkhidmat Foundation Lower South Waziristan President Umar Wazir said the organization continues its humanitarian mission, adding that relief goods were delivered under directives from provincial leadership to support families impacted by border incidents and recurring firing from across the border. He said the organization would continue welfare and relief activities for affected communities in the future.
Separately, Jamaat-e-Islami South Waziristan District Amir Asad Bheer welcomed the initiative, describing the distribution of food assistance during difficult times as a commendable effort. He urged government institutions, elected representatives and welfare organizations to extend immediate financial and humanitarian support to residents of Angoor Adda, who he said were facing severe hardship.
He added that due to ongoing border tensions, several families had been displaced, while local business activity and daily life had been significantly disrupted. Residents of the area expressed gratitude for the assistance, calling it a timely relief for affected households. They also appealed to authorities to address losses caused by repeated incidents and to improve security and protection for border communities.
