KARACHI: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi (District Central) has awarded certificates to 50 students who successfully completed Information Technology (IT) and English language courses during a ceremony held in Karachi.
Deputy Commissioner Central Taha Saleem attended the event as the chief guest and presented certificates to the graduates, congratulating them on their achievements and recognising their commitment to developing new skills.
The ceremony was also attended by the Arts Council’s Administrative Director, Shakeel Khan, along with literary figures, social activists and students.
Addressing the gathering, Taha Saleem said initiatives that provide educational and technical training play an important role in equipping young people with the skills needed for meaningful employment. He praised the Arts Council for its continued efforts to support youth development and expressed hope that such programmes would continue to expand.
Shakeel Khan said the Arts Council’s training centre in New Karachi had so far provided IT and English language training to more than 600 young men and women. He noted that digital literacy and English proficiency have become increasingly important for higher education, employment, freelancing and access to international opportunities.
He added that while the Arts Council is widely known for promoting arts and culture, it is also committed to helping young people acquire modern skills that improve their career prospects and enable them to contribute positively to society.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates to the successful students and best wishes for their future academic and professional careers.
