KHAIRPUR: The Finance and Planning Committee of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology and Skill Development (BBS-UTECH) held its 14th meeting to review the university’s financial plans for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
The meeting was chaired by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Rasool Bux Mahar, who welcomed committee members, including Professor Dr Muhammad Aslam Uqaili, Nawaz Ali Tunio, Deputy Secretary of the Universities and Boards Department representing the department’s secretary, Sohail Humayoon, Deputy Director Finance representing the Higher Education Commission, Feroz Mahar, Director Finance of the Sindh Higher Education Commission, Professor Dr Manthar Ali Kerio, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and other members.
Opening the meeting, the vice chancellor outlined the committee’s responsibilities under the BBS-UTECH Act 2016, as amended in 2018. He said the committee was responsible for maintaining financial discipline, ensuring the effective use of resources and supporting the university’s long-term sustainable development.
Kashif Raza Rind presented the revised budget estimates for the 2025-26 financial year and the proposed budget for 2026-27. The presentation included projected revenue, current expenditure and planned capital spending on infrastructure, equipment, faculty development and student support services.
Committee members carried out a detailed review of the financial proposals and offered recommendations aimed at improving operational efficiency, strengthening internal financial controls and ensuring that the budget remained aligned with the university’s long-term strategic objectives.
The meeting concluded with the vice chancellor thanking members for their contributions and reaffirming the committee’s commitment to financial discipline, transparency and good governance.
