ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is bringing the two countries closer not only economically but also in institutional and legal cooperation.
Speaking at a four-day international training programme under the Ministry of Law, Ishaq Dar described CPEC as a flagship initiative of Pakistan–China relations, now entering a second phase focused on industrial development, agricultural reform and broader economic integration.
He said relations between Pakistan and China are based on mutual respect, trust and long-standing partnership, adding that the two countries have consistently supported each other’s core interests through periods of regional and global uncertainty.
Dar said the relationship between Islamabad and Beijing stands as a distinctive example in international diplomacy, noting that successive leaderships on both sides have played a key role in strengthening bilateral cooperation over the past 75 years.
He also said Pakistan had recently played a mediating role in facilitating talks between the United States and Iran after 47 years, claiming that diplomatic engagement helped contribute to a ceasefire between the two sides. Iran United States
Reiterating Pakistan’s diplomatic posture, he said efforts were ongoing to promote peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue, while warning that delaying international agreements was a matter of concern for global stability.
He added that Pakistan’s ties with Azerbaijan remain strong and bilateral in nature, while relations with Bangladesh are also progressing in a positive and cordial direction. Azerbaijan Bangladesh
