MEHAR: A six-year-old girl, Ujala Parveen Solangi, remained missing five days after her disappearance from Ayaz Colony in Mehar, leaving her family in deep distress.

Her father, primary school teacher Shamsuddin Solangi, along with her uncle, mother, grandmother and other relatives, had broken down in tears, saying that days had passed since their young daughter went missing. The family said they were living in anguish, describing the atmosphere at home as heartbreaking. “We could think of nothing except our daughter. We kept crying and remembering her all the time,” they said, appealing to the Sindh chief minister, the home minister and other authorities to ensure her safe recovery.
The girl had allegedly been abducted while returning home from school five days earlier. After the incident came to light, Sindh IG Javed Alam Odho had taken notice and sought details from the SSP Dadu, directing that all possible measures be taken for the child’s immediate recovery. He had also instructed officials to use all available resources, including modern technology, CCTV footage and human intelligence.
According to the SSP Dadu, a case relating to the girl’s disappearance and alleged abduction had been registered at Mehar Police Station A-Section, and a five-member special investigation team had been formed to examine the case from different angles.
The team had been headed by SHO A-Section Muhammad Ibrahim Somro and included SHO Dadu Akbar Ali Channa, CIA in-charge Inspector Mir Jat, Inspector Mehtab Khawer and investigation officer Ali Akbar Shah.
Sources said police had carried out searches in Ayaz Colony and Sindhal Mahesar and had questioned the girl’s relatives. After searching several houses, three individuals had been taken into custody, although their identities had not been disclosed as the investigation continued.
Separately, under the supervision of One-Five in-charge Imdad Sehole, with assistance from municipal committee staff and others, a search operation had also been conducted in the Kukul canal passing through Mehar in an effort to locate the child.
Meanwhile, social leader Maulana Masood Madhosh Sumro and others had distributed pamphlets across the city, urging the public to help in the search and ensure the safe recovery of the child, so that her parents’ anguish could come to an end.
