KARACHI: The first meeting of the Pakistan–Rwanda Business Council was held at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and was chaired by Chairman Atif Iqbal. FPCCI Vice President Asif Sakhi and other members also attended the meeting.
During the session, participants held detailed discussions on various aspects of promoting bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and Rwanda. The attendees particularly highlighted the vast potential for cooperation in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, transportation, construction, nursing, sports, agriculture and other industries.
Addressing the meeting, Chairman Atif Iqbal said the scope of the Pakistan–Rwanda Business Council would be expanded and its membership increased. He noted that Rwanda offered numerous business opportunities that Pakistani investors could benefit from. He added that efforts would continue to enhance bilateral trade between the two countries in order to strengthen economic ties.
Participants of the meeting expressed their commitment to making effective use of the Business Council platform to give a new dimension to trade relations between Pakistan and Rwanda. Renowned Cardialogist Dr Akram Sultan also gave his input regarding healthcare cooperation and healthcar tourism.
Asif Sakhi said the establishment of the Pakistan–Rwanda Business Council was a welcome development that would help promote trade relations between the two countries. He said there were extensive opportunities for cooperation across various sectors, which could significantly boost mutual trade if properly utilised.
He further said the formation of the Business Council would not only strengthen ties within the business community but also open new avenues for investment. Asif Sakhi added that FPCCI was the largest representative body of the country’s business community and its doors were always open for traders and industrialists.
