KARACHI: Greece’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Irene Pochini, called on Pakistan Peoples Party leader Imtiaz Sheikh at his residence on Saturday, where matters of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation were discussed, officials said.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on areas of potential collaboration, including investment opportunities in Sindh and broader socio-economic development initiatives.
The Greek ambassador said she was impressed by the hospitality and cultural richness of the people of Sindh, noting that the warmth and traditions of the region had left a positive impression on her visit.
She also appreciated the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari regarding legislation aimed at empowering women, saying that such efforts reflected a progressive approach towards gender equality and social inclusion.
Speaking on the occasion, Imtiaz Sheikh said the Pakistan Peoples Party had always supported the protection of women’s rights and their empowerment through legislative and policy measures. He said the party believed in strengthening the role of women in all sectors of society.
He added that Sindh offered significant opportunities for investment in various sectors and that the provincial government was actively facilitating foreign investors to encourage economic growth and development.
Imtiaz Sheikh further said that under the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, several projects under the public-private partnership model were being successfully implemented across Sindh, contributing to infrastructure development and improved public services.
Both sides expressed optimism about strengthening cooperation and expanding engagement in areas of shared interest.
The meeting concluded in a cordial atmosphere, with a mutual commitment to enhancing cultural and economic ties between Greece and Pakistan.
