DHAKA: A six-member delegation from Pakistan, led by Jehanzeb Khan, Project Director of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, visited Dhaka University on Monday, 1 December 2025, seeking to strengthen academic ties and research collaboration between institutions in the two countries.
The delegation, which included representatives from several Pakistani universities, was warmly received by Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan at his office. During the meeting, both sides explored areas of mutual interest, focusing particularly on opportunities for joint academic programs, research partnerships, and student and faculty exchanges.
Jehanzeb Khan emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to fostering collaboration, expressing his willingness to work closely with Dhaka University to promote initiatives that could benefit both nations’ higher education landscapes.
Prof. Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan provided the delegation with an overview of Dhaka University’s rich history and its ongoing academic and research projects. He underscored the importance of building networks with universities and research institutions around the world, highlighting that such partnerships could significantly enhance the university’s capacity for innovation and knowledge creation.
The vice-chancellor expressed appreciation for the delegation’s interest and engagement, noting that academic collaboration across borders was crucial in addressing common educational and research challenges. He added that sustained cooperation could open avenues for joint research publications, faculty development programs, and exchange opportunities for students, strengthening intellectual and cultural ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
The visit concluded on a positive note, with both parties agreeing to explore concrete steps for collaboration in the near future, signaling a renewed commitment to regional academic engagement and knowledge sharing.
