ISLAMABAD: Iran has formally sent its response to the latest United States proposals aimed at ending the ongoing conflict, using Pakistan as a mediator, according to Iranian state media reports. The move comes as diplomatic channels continue to operate quietly despite rising tensions between Tehran and Washington.
Reports said discussions on ending the conflict remain the central focus at this stage. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baqaei previously stated that Iran’s position, including its concerns and reservations about the US proposals, would be communicated after a full review process and final internal consultations. Officials indicated that Tehran is carefully assessing the terms before taking any final decision on the next phase of engagement.
In a separate statement, an Iranian military spokesperson issued a strong warning to regional countries, urging them not to cooperate with US military activities in the region. He said any country taking hostile steps against Iran would face serious consequences.
The spokesperson further warned that states aligning with US pressure could experience operational difficulties in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil transit routes. Analysts say such remarks reflect growing pressure tactics as both sides seek leverage in ongoing negotiations. The situation remains tense, with diplomatic efforts continuing through indirect intermediaries like Pakistan.
