TEHRAN: Iran’s military has warned that any renewed attack on the country would be met with “unexpected methods” of response, saying such a conflict would enter a phase the enemy cannot imagine. The statement was issued by Iranian Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia.
He said Iran’s internal unity had strengthened during recent tensions and claimed that opposing forces had failed to achieve any of their objectives during previous confrontations.
According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, Akraminia said on Sunday that countries following US sanctions policy against Iran would face difficulties in allowing their ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. He added that vessels would be required to coordinate with Iran before entering the strategic waterway.
He said these measures could bring “multiple benefits” for Iran, adding that rising military tensions with the United States and Israel had pushed Tehran to assert greater control over the region’s strategic maritime routes.
The spokesperson said Iran had already warned countries supporting US and Israeli actions against it. He claimed that the United States had failed to achieve its goals and faced setbacks due to its actions against Iran.
Akraminia further stated that regional developments had strengthened Iran’s internal unity and said the country would continue to exercise its sovereignty in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil transit routes.
