NEW DELHI: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to arrive in India’s capital New Delhi this week to attend the Brics foreign ministers’ meeting on May 14.
According to Indian media reports, the meeting is being held as part of preparations for the 18th Brics summit scheduled to take place in New Delhi in September.
The Brics bloc currently comprises 11 core member states, including Russia, China and Iran, while India is holding the chair of the organisation.
Analysts say the expected participation of the Iranian foreign minister is significant in the context of rising regional tensions and ongoing global diplomatic activity.
