KARACHI: Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur participated in the “Chiragh Se Chiragh” experience-sharing event held at the Mövenpick Hotel Karachi. The event brought together students and academic representatives from various universities to highlight youth-led initiatives and community engagement projects.

During the project cycle, students of Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur reached the highest number of community members while implementing their action plans among all participating universities. This outreach was described as reflecting strong commitment to meaningful engagement and effective project execution.
Students from the university’s Students Societies Centre presented their project implementations and action plans, demonstrating their focus on community development, civic engagement and applied learning.
Dr Ali Raza Lashari, coordinator of the Students Societies Centre, said the university had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Center for Peace and Development Initiatives, which had been successfully translated into student-led collaborative activities.
Shabir Ahmed, country director of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, appreciated the participating institutions and highlighted the importance of youth engagement in democratic and community processes.
Khurram Badar Alam, senior program adviser, Atif Ali, provincial coordinator CPDI, and Ambreen Kanwal, project manager, also shared their perspectives, noting the program’s role in strengthening students’ practical skills and leadership development.
Students from the University of Karachi and The Larkana University also participated, contributing to an inter-university platform for learning and exchange. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening youth participation and building partnerships for sustainable community development.
